Terry joined the team in November 2002 and was appointed a director in January 2004.
With 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry, Terry’s initial training was with UK building societies and centralised mortgage lenders, where he quickly ascended to positions of Branch Manager, then Regional Lending Manager.  In 1992 Terry was appointed a Business Development Manager with the world’s largest risk management insurance services and employee benefits firm.  This brought him to Jersey in 1997 to establish their offshore operations, where he was subsequently appointed Managing Director of the Jersey division.

Terry's directorial responsibilities include: risk management and compliance, marketing strategy, business development, as well as strategy for The Mortgage Shop’s financial planning business, Henley Financial.  He has recently qualified at a Member of the International Compliance Association, the recognised body for compliance and risk professionals

At a client-facing level, Terry is a qualified Independent Financial Adviser, specialising in high level retirement planning, business succession planning and employee benefits.  He works closely with accountants, lawyers and trust companies to provide financial and contingency planning for small to medium size businesses.

Most recently, Terry has taken over the management of the private lending activities, where he engages with both the lender and the borrowers.

Terry holds memberships of The Chartered Institute for Investments and Securities, The Chartered Insurance Institute, The Personal Finance Society, and The Society of Mortgage Professionals.

Unfortunately too old and injured to take an active part in his favourite sports of rugby and cricket, Terry enjoys his leisure time on the golf course, where he is a competent single figure player.
